Frequently Asked Questions

Rehearsals are held at Abbeyview Bowling Club Dunfermline KY12 7DS on Thursday evenings from 19:15 - 21:15pm.

We meet weekly during school term time for 2 hours on a Thursday. we hold a rally once per year. This involves an afternoon rehearsal and the concert at night and we are usually finished by 10pm. We often have a number of members invited to other societies rallies all over Scotland. We occasionally perform a number of smaller concerts in a variety of smaller venues such as care homes, community centres, churches etc.

The annual membership fee is currently £20 for adults and £10 for junior members. Refreshments can be purchased at the bowling club during rehearsal nights

We try to be as flexible as possible in accommodating a range of playing abilities. As a rough guide, based on the music we typically play, you should be able to play to approximately Grade 3 however if you are not sure, please come along and either watch us rehearse or join in and see how you manage. Recent experience is not required. Experience of Scottish music is not required however an appreciation of it is a good idea!

We do not require anyone to audition.

Not for our rehearsals, however, for concerts the general standard is tartan with ladies wearing white blouses with long or short kilts and men wearing white shirts with either Kilt or trews.
